Our client a major business intelligence solutions company which supports the commercial pharmaceutical industry wish to appoint a Senior Manager (Pharmacy Business Intelligence) to join their team. The position is based from their offices in Dublin. The role is a permanent full-time position

Job Description

As Senior Manager-Pharmacy Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relations with key stakeholders including community pharmacists and IT vendors to secure and maintain the data flow from community pharmacies, which is used in the production of business intelligence for both pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry.

You will be responsible for recruiting pharmacies to participate in the gathering of data by encouraging them to provide pharmacy data to our client and for retaining these pharmacies on the pharmacy panel. You will also be responsible for training relevant staff in community pharmacies on the effective use of My Pharmacy Watch, a business intelligence tool, and assisting pharmacy teams to get the maximum benefits from using the system.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience of sales/marketing in a pharmacy/pharmaceutical type environment. Knowledge and understanding of the analysis and use of data, while not essential, would be an advantage.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain the flow of data from community pharmacies to the client company, which will include recruiting and retaining pharmacy members for the data panel;

  • Liaise directly with IT Vendors to ensure a smooth data flow between IT vendor systems and COI, the data production facility and support centre for our client;

  • Maintain and develop relationships with both retail pharmacies, including buying groups and symbol groups, and pharmacy IT Vendors;

  • Encourage pharmacy owners and managers to use My Pharmacy Watch, a pharmacy data monitoring system and business intelligence tool, and assist them in maximising the benefits of the system for their pharmacy business;

  • Assist in the ongoing development of new pharmacy business intelligence platforms using key learnings from the pharmacy panel;

  • Introduce, implement and sustain a marketing and communication campaign for communicating with pharmacies and promoting My Pharmacy Watch;

  • Provide weekly updates to management on pharmacy recruitment and retention;

  • Provide regular updates to or client on progress with the pharmacy panel and issues related to data flow;

  • Report at board meetings on matters relating to the pharmacy panel and the IT vendors, and any other areas of concern related to the flow of data from community pharmacies;

  • Any other task assigned as required from time to time.

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate must demonstrate an interest and commitment to the mission and objectives of our client.

  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining positive client relationships;
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills and an ability to convey complex information in a user-friendly way;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • Experience producing marketing and communications materials;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to strict deadlines;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a small team;
  • Ability to inspire and influence people at all levels in the organisation and gain the confidence of colleagues.
