Export Sales Manager – Pharmacy Group – Dublin West based - December 2018 - Immediate Vacancy

Our client is the largest pharmaceutical purchasing group in the Irish Pharmacy market with offices based in West Dublin.

The business is growing quickly and continues to invest in its core competencies to drive growth and further enhance its market leading position within the Irish and European Pharmacy market. They are seeking an experienced Export Sales Manager, to develop and implement their new export commercial strategy and commercial leadership to help support their ambitious growth plans.

The successful candidate will have overall accountability for Strategy and Operations for export performance across the companies’ pharmacy, wholesale and sales areas. The position reports directly to the CEO.

The successful candidate will own the development and execution of the company export strategy that maximises revenue and profitable growth. Experience of working in a complex, fast paced, B2B or B2C business at a senior level where they have defined the export commercial strategy and delivered growth is essential. Candidates with pharmaceutical wholesaler, retail pharmacy or generics experience in this area would be strongly considered. There will be extensive European travel within the role.

The Role

The Export Sales Manager will have overall ownership and responsibility to devise, implement and deliver the company’s export and growth strategies for the business.


  • Develop and implement commercial strategies in accordance with company goals and objectives aimed to accelerate growth.

  • The job holder will be primarily responsible for export strategy, developing and managing strategic relationships with key Suppliers within the trading function.

  • The Export Sales Manager will be responsible for gross margin, budgeted gross margin across the trading function.

  • Administer all sales activities for all export products of organisation and ensure achievement of all export sales target and analyse all company objectives and negotiate on prices to achieve same and maintain knowledge on all competitor activities.

  • Maintain all company customers for all assigned territories and perform periodic visits to sites and provide required training to all staff and forecast all sales volume for various projects and maintain knowledge on all product range.

  • Assist to prepare territory budgets and recommend appropriate distributors for all assign region and design all organisation projects and facilitate in sales for same.

  • Develop all objectives and goals for market sales and net revenue for all export activities and implement all new product launches to achieve all sales objectives and administer all merchandise for group brands.

  • Design all required marketing and sales program for assign territory and maintain knowledge on all competitor products and participate in various exhibitions and seminars and perform tests on all new products and provide training to staff to achieve all goals.

  • Analyse all market intelligence reports and identify all new business opportunities to expand business and maintain an efficient portfolio for same.

  • Collaborate with marketing departments to analyse all market activities and manage all communication with technical departments and perform various tests in products and ensure optimal quality of all products and design all export market rules and regulations to mitigate all risks.

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all clients and supervise achievement of all sales targets for all assign areas and analyse all customer requirements to prepare appropriate sales strategies for same.

  • Prepare all contracts with suppliers and distributors in accordance with all state and federal regulations and evaluate all reports as submitted by sales staff and recommend changes if required and prepare reports for all profitability.

  • Effective Management of Customer relationships.

  • Identify and unlock Export Sales opportunities.

  • Negotiate best terms and ensure all export deals are maximized to full profit potential.

  • Understand the requirements of new customers to ensure their needs are being met to the highest standard.

  • Review and be accountable for the performance of all commercial export activities using key agreed metrics

  • Proven experience as an Export Sales Manager or another relevant role.

An excellent salary circa 70-80k (depending on experience) plus bonus and strong benefits package will apply to the right individual.
