Finite Scheduler – Pharmaceuticals – Dublin West based – November 2018 – Immediate Vacancy

Our client, a major pharmaceutical manufacturing company wish to appoint a Finite Scheduler to join their team in West Dublin.

The main objective of the role is to Deliver, and maintain, detailed process schedules for the manufacturing facility, aligning with the High-Level Schedule (HLS) and Standard Work models to ensure the manufacture of product is carried out in an efficiently and in the correct sequence.

The position is a full-time permanent role.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver a finite schedule of production activities
  • Liaise with the production master planner to create, maintain, and communicate, the finite production schedule
  • Manage material movements in support of POR (Plan of Record)
  • Identify potential bottlenecks and identify options to eliminate such bottlenecks.
  • Use finite scheduling and process models to create “what if” scenarios to enable ramp up of production cadence, optimise product changeover and plan for lead in and recovery from delays/warmdowns/shutdowns.
  • Manage a structured business process to ensure all non-standard work is scheduled in a controlled manner.
  • Managing overdue demand on SAP and IDOCs
  • Provide days support for SAP / Materials champions and run weekly meetings
  • Run weekly scrap reports and support budgeting process.
  • Responsible for implementation and continuous improvement of SAP and inventory management processes/systems.
  • Support investigations in relation to SAP and material issues
  • Support shift Continuous Improvement projects and Method 1’s in relation to SAP and material issues.
  • Ensure that there are robust processes in place to support all planning activities
  • Act as SAP Superuser
  • Provide a single point of contact for ERP incidents, projects initiatives and support.
  • Build and maintain strong ERP network relationships with key stakeholders to build knowledge, best practice to support and influence effective issue resolution or business improvement.
  • Support the understanding and timely implementation of strategic corporate initiatives supporting operations
  • Set performance goals and objectives.
  • Lead project-related working groups (cross-functional) in order to troubleshoot any issues and to generate policies/processes.
  • Participate/Lead OE (Operation Excellence) initiatives


  • Degree in Science or equivalent in life sciences/bioengineering/information systems or other discipline with high content of numeric analysis/calculation.
  • Ideally 5 plus years of experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing, Quality Assurance or Compliance environment.
  • Familiarity and experience with Upstream and Downstream manufacturing process an advantage.
  • Experience in operating within a regulated environment (EMEA, FDA).
  • Must have In-depth user knowledge of SAP MRP
  • Experience of business improvement or operations excellence projects.
  • Familiarity with financial issues and/or cost management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project Business planning or project management or supply chain management experience.
  • An excellent understanding of process manufacturing/computer systems, and demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and train others.
  • Ability to efficiently use current computer packages, in particular, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An ability to deal with process change and implement new effective processes.
  • An ability to work through peers and across organisational boundaries and influence at all levels in the business.
  • An ability to think analytically and innovate to achieve goals.
