Pharmacovigilance Officer - Pharmaceuticals - Dublin South - Part-time Contract  (2 years)- March 2019 - Urgent

Our client, a major commercial pharmaceutical company based in South Dublin wish to appoint an experienced Pharmacovigilance Executive (min 1-2 years experience) to join their team.

The position is a part-time contract position for a minimum of two years working 9.30am - 1.30pm (Monday to Friday).

The ideal candidate must have Pharmacovigilance experience in the Pharmaceutical industry

Job Purpose

To participate in the handling of all Pharmacovigilance tasks as covered by global SOPs for a local affiliate and medical information enquiries received by the local organisation, to track and train on SOPs and to track all Product technical complaints (PTC’s) locally.

General Description:

 Ensure correct implementation of and compliance with all safety related standard operating procedures (SOPs), Working Procedures (WPs) and Operational Manual (OM) referring to the local safety activities.


 Ensure that all safety related information referring to adverse reaction / event cases (originating from post-marketing area or from clinical trials), information from local scientific literature, queries, safety issues and crisis, medical and PTC’s received from local physicians or consumers or other customers are managed according to the above procedures and to available internal manuals and guidelines.


 Ensure continuous monitoring of local regulatory requirements for changes in safety regulations and that the Global Pharmacovigilance organization is immediately informed of any changes

 Ensure the appropriate handling of safety aspects for local products not covered by global Pharmacovigilance processes and that local license agreements appropriately address aspects of Drug safety and Pharmacovigilance

 Provision of product support in terms of medical information for dealing with medical queries relating directly to non-promotional products and second line support to product managers for the remaining products.

 Participate in handling the filing and documentation of all Medical Information enquiries

 Provide training on the handling of all enquiries that enter both the medical information and other departments (both internal and external), including letters, telephone calls, faxes and emails.

Knowledge and Experience

 Scientific background. This will constitute at least a degree level qualification in Science, Pharmacy or Nursing

 Ability and flexibility to work in a time critical environment

 Attention to detail
