Market Access Manager - Pharmaceuticals – Dublin - May 2019 - Immediate Vacancy

Our client, a major pharmaceutical company based in Dublin wish to appoint a Market Access Manager to join their company.

Ideally candidates who currently have 2-3 years Market Access experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be strongly considered. The strong intention is to grow this position to a more senior level within the next 18-24 months

The position is a full-time permanent role

Summary of Role & Purpose:

  • The Market Access Manager is an essential contributor to the design and implementation of market access strategy. The position combines scientific, economic and communication skills into one role.
  • The Market Access Manager has a deep understanding of a changing health policy agenda and funding flows, uncovers critical stakeholder insights and has a strong ability to shape and influence change.
  • The role is responsible for optimal market access strategies and execution, nationally and regionally and in both the public and private healthcare system.

 

  • The purpose of the Market Access Manager role is to manage and co-ordinate the P&R process, including the development, adaptation of health technology assessment (HTA) submissions and to support pricing and HTA submission strategies and plans which are aligned to strategic brand plans for new and existing products (including detailed patient flow inputs and comprehensive budget impact models).

 

  • In addition, the role must manage, support and operationalise pricing strategy, the price exceptions business case and approvals process for new product submissions, proposed MEA’s and must manage the associated, required pricing analytics and play an active role in payer negotiation strategy and planning.

 

The Market Access Manager will be capable of leading payer negotiation and engagement

Potential candidates should also have a strong combination of the following skills and experience

  • Thorough understanding of Irish business and healthcare landscape

  • Knowledge of Global and European HTA structure and strategic direction

  • Firm grasp of customer needs for both PEA and Outcomes Research data

  • Engaging with various national payors (HSE-CPU/NCPE/NCCP)

  • Field Work interacting with local KOLs across therapy areas

  • Interacting with our client's HEOR team in Europe/global

  • Co-ordinating local RR/HTA Submissions

  • Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent Presentation Skills

  • Ability to influence and affect the future HTA environment

  • Strong team working and inter-personal skills

  • Ability to represent the unit in both internal and external networks

  • Ideally a network of HTA contacts within the Irish community

  • Working Knowledge of IPHA Code
