Hospital Sales Specialist - Psychiatry - Dublin based - July 2019 - Urgent

Our client a major pharmaceutical company wish to appoint a Hospital Sales Specialist based either in Dublin or surrounding Leinster counties to join their team.

The position is a full-time permanent role.

The successful individual will be responsible for launching their new Psychiatry drug at Psychiatric hospital level in the Dublin / Leinster area


• Coordinate all account level interactions

• Design and implement a strategy for territory to deliver on-target performance

• Lead the development, implementation and regular evaluation and revisions of the detailed account-level business plan, aligned with the national brand


• Provide regular and accurate territory performance reports and customer and environmental insights to management and cross-functional team

• Identify key trends in the local environment across treatment settings and proactively identify and drive appropriate business opportunities that will be of mutual benefit locally and potentially nationally for patients, healthcare services and company.

• Identify when other resource is required in customer engagements and coordinate this engagement todeliver Commercial objectives.

Sales Delivery:

• Accountable for achievement of the territory sales target

• Generate clinical demand for assigned Company products

• Promote and sell product(s) by influencing customer opinion (prescribing and commercial)

• Establish strong business relationships with identified key customer groups to ensure commercial objectives are met as per plan

• Set and work to achieve agreed business objectives and deliver results with a short /medium term operational focus

• Measure return on investment of resourcing decisions and keep within budget

• Achieve expected levels of activity across customer group

• Develop and maintain records of all customer and territory information on the CRM system

• Report on customer call plans and customer product requirements, and provide regular progress reports on performance


• Accountable for continued professional development in order to perform at the optimum level for the role

• Ensure adherence to the IPHA code of practice and to all company policies and procedures

• Responsible for upholding the professional image of the organisation at all times

• Monitor market trends, competitor products and customer needs to identify new business objectives and provide timely feedback to all relevant internal stakeholders

• Stays abreast of latest information in therapy area and maintains a high standard on training programmes and knowledge assessments

• Support sharing best practice across the sales team

Candidates should ideally have current or previous Key Account or Hospital Specialist experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Experience in Psychiatric hospital pharma product sales would be a very strong advantage.

An excellent salary circa 70K plus bonus and strong benefits package including company car will be offered to the successful candidate.
