Health Economics Outcomes Manager – Pharmaceuticals – Dublin based – September 2019 – Immediate Vacancy

Our client, a major pharmaceutical company wish to appoint a Health Economics Outcomes Manager to join their Market Access team. The position is based at their Dublin offices.

Job purpose

The Health Economics Outcomes Manager role is a non-promotional, cross-portfolio role that enables market access at national and local levels by establishing long-term strategic relationships at all levels of healthcare decision-making.

The job requires technical expertise in the area of health economics, pricing, and reimbursement strategies for in-line portfolio products, generating local access strategies that identify and address access opportunities and barriers, with the aim of benefiting patients, the HSE and our client.

The role entails collaboration with colleagues, access customers and opinion leaders, ensuring a clear view of the market access situation whilst developing and sharing insights and best practice.

Major accountabilities

  • Expertise in HEOR and HTA/reimbursement requirements, to manage reimbursement dossiers and to advise on healthcare trends, policies and reforms.
  • Manage strategy for early launch product portfolio.
  • Develop market access strategies for the pending and current portfolio to achieve efficient and sustained access across the portfolio
  • Identification of HSE service challenges for reimbursement and uptake, and development of solutions for service improvement eg patient pathways optimisation, service redesign; and ensure project are integrated into brand/account plans with full internal visibility.
  • Ensure regular review vs KPIs and incorporate a feedback loop for continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance at all levels, including internal processes and defined SOPs.

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Pricing and reimbursement endorsement from RE, Irish HTA bodies, and payers (HSE, NCCP).
  • Improvement in access demonstrated via targeted project/activities; overall project evaluation based on pre-determined criteria.
  • Optimal vendor management.
  • OBU awareness of the strategic value of HEOR and healthcare partnerships projects
  • Executing innovative access strategies and solutions that successfully mitigate payer concerns

Ideal Background

Education:

Bachelor or MSc degree in health economics or equivalent
