European Clinical Sales Specialist – Pharmaceuticals – Germany based – September 2019 - Urgent

Our client is an internationally growing company that manufactures and sells Pharmaceutical products for surgical procedures. They are now looking to recruit a European Clinical Sales Specialist ideally based in Germany or the UK to join their team.

The position is a full-time permanent role.

Position Summary

The focus of the role will be to provide clinical sales support for the fluorescent dye and a Fluorescence Imaging System for both existing distributors and new clients in new markets throughout Europe. Primary task will be, in conjunction with agreed commercial strategy, to support sales and clinical needs for key markets. This will include managing appointments with clinical staff, training staff on use of products, demonstration of the product and follow up with the customer after the demo completion and managing activities at key conferences/events. Also, the role requires working closely with distributors and support their client needs. The position will require extensive travelling and is a field-based role.  Key activities will revolve around supporting the commercial manager as he/she seeks business for specialist product and device.  The target group of the different and extending indications are mainly plastic surgeons.

As a Sales function the role is responsible for delivering the sales plan in terms of financial performance and qualitative objectives (e.g. market share gains, account growth, customer support improvements).

These activities will be focused across Europe in both the private and public sector.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial

  • Achievement of the Sales Plan in terms of financial performance and qualitative objectives (market share gains, account growth etc.).

  • Clinical Sales support of the European distribution network in staff training & clinical trials where required.

  • Direct responsibility for the German & Austrian regions including:

    • Develop market overview and strategy for the direct sales channel in Germany

    • Prospect define and develop new accounts and business in addition to growing and maintaining the existing customer portfolio to support a balanced sales funnel for growth.

    • Manage the overall sales process and coordinate, own and ensure completion of the necessary pre and post sales tasks. i.e. prospecting, demonstrations, evaluations, quotations, fittings, follow up, cash collection.

  • Maintain strong after-sales contact and develop long-term customer relationships.

  • Supporting customers’ and distributors’ needs and requirements.

Technical / Clinical

  • Develop and maintain a high level of product & clinical knowledge of Diagnostic Green & competitive products.

  • Ensure knowledge base is maintained with up to date awareness of the latest clinical papers/publications.

  • Development of training material for distributors

  • Training of distributors

  • Identify and evaluate specific key opinion leaders (KOLs) across Europe and develop relationships with key customers and opinion leaders assisting in planning and organizing the KOL activities.

    General

  • Ensure full compliance with all operating, forecasting and reporting processes & rigor. Update and follow-up the CRM system, orders and sales forecasts and provide market share and win-loss information in line with time schedule.

  • Establish strong relationships & work closely with other Renew teams to ensure customer intimacy and sales opportunities are maximized.

  • Attend applicable trade shows, study days and conferences as applicable.

  • Host courses, study days and events, ensuring good attendance and event follow up.

  • Any other duty reasonably required for the effectiveness of the Sales Team

    Experience and Capabilities

  • Technical, Medical or Business Education (preferred at least a Bachelor’s Degree).

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical or Pharmaceutical sales experience within the European healthcare sector (preferred surgical operating field).

  • Experience of European Channel Partner support.

  • Direct knowledge of European Healthcare systems and Hospital structures.

  • Experience in training and direct contact with surgeons.

  • Knowledge of complex selling processes such as tenders or contractual agreements

  • Commercially driven with strong negotiating skills.

  • Strong communication and networking skills.

  • Strong commercial and numeric skills with an ability to analyse sales data to identify gaps and opportunities and subsequently devise a territory sales plan in line with company & brand strategies

  • An ability to work as part of a wider commercial team, and to manage time effectively in a fast- paced environment.

  • The ability to understand and present clinical data.

  • Excellent administration, planning and organisation skills.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Full clean driving license.

  • Fluency in English

An excellent salary circa €75-€90k (depending on experience) plus strong benefits package, including bonus up to €20k on target earnings, car allowance and expenses will apply to the successful candidate.
