Business Development Executive – Pharmacy Group – Dublin – January 2020 – Urgent

Our client is the largest pharmaceutical purchasing group in the Irish Pharmacy market with offices based in the Liffey Valley area, West Dublin.

The business is growing quickly and continues to invest in its core competencies to drive growth and further enhance its market leading position within the Irish Pharmacy market.

They are now looking to recruit a Business Development Executive to join their team to support and grow the business and their pharmacy members. The ideal individual for the role would be a commercially focussed Pharmacy Technician with current retail pharmacy experience or individual with current Business Development experience with Retail Pharmacies.

Candidates should have a pleasant personality, get on with people and have the drive and hunger to succeed.

Candidates should have a current drivers’ licence and be willing to travel in the position.


  • A minimum of 5 + years sales experience working within community pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated sales success over that period, chasing leads and closing leads.
  • You will have good commercial acumen and an exemplary track record of successful sales.
  • You will enjoy being part of a successful team but will thrive on your competitive ability to be the best and use your initiative to solve problems and grow the business.
  • You will have a good understanding of the structure of the Pharma Industry and the process of gaining contracts, if no experience in Pharma, relevant experience in recruitment of franchisees into a franchise.
  • You will have experience and the ability to communicate at all levels effectively and be comfortable presenting to small and large groups of people.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • You will have excellent planning and organisational skills, be analytical and computer literate.
  • An innovative, open minded approach
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Results-focused, team-oriented and a strong work ethic
  • Strong knowledge of different legal requirements across new business opportunities
  • Ability to travel throughout Ireland
  • Applicant will be field based

Key responsibilities;

  • Responsible for driving Store sales growth
  • Develop strong capture plans and winning strategies for targeted stores.
  • Develop strong relationship with customers
  • Track new business develop opportunities, utlising market knowledge and market intelligence to identify new customers.
  • Establishing a framework for pipeline management (expectations, processes, reporting/KPI’s, etc.)
