Market Access Director - Pharmaceuticals – Dublin – October 2017 - Urgent

Our client a major pharmaceutical company based in Dublin wish to appoint a Market Access Director to join their team. This is a new role and they are looking to recruit a high calibre Market Access pharmaceutical professional to this senior position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide leadership, strategic direction and formation to the Market Access department in order to ensure products obtain and maintain optimal pricing, reimbursement status and listing on tenders, while facilitating patients access to best available treatment.

  • Build a team to ensure success as the structure of Healthcare and the HSE changes.

  • Network with the paying stakeholders and exchange relevant information within the organization

  • Translate (international) HE data into local payers tools to support our clients Business

DESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Function

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Health & Value department to develop and implement plans to ensure all products gain / maintain price and reimbursements and listing as a result of tenders.
  • Continue to build and develop the Market Access team through the acquisition of key talent, skills improvement and coaching.
  • Develop Market Access strategies and plans (in coordination with brand teams) integrating HEOR, Value for Money and non-prescribing stakeholders activities and insights into marketing strategy / Plans for our clients core products.
  • Work closely with the Country Manager to network and build progressive relationships with Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies (NCPE, NCCP, HIQA, Universities & CPU ) and associated stakeholders, shaping and anticipating their information needs on our clients medicines in order to ensure a positive market access environment and financial success.
  • Work cross functionally with commercial, medical and corporate affairs to deliver aligned external strategies to support the reimbursement process

Main Responsibilities

  • Represent Health & Value as a member of our clients senior Leadership team (CMF) and ensure the organization objectives are clearly communicated to, and implemented within the Health & Value Department and the wider organization.
  • To source, interpret, customise and disseminate high quality Outcomes Research and Economic assessment information in a timely fashion to direct and support all Pharma Business Unit submissions in Ireland.
  • Support local data availability with translation of (international ) HE data into local payer’s tools to support business
  • To understand and accommodate the differing requirements of the company Business Units for OR/ PEA & ensure the appropriate tools are available for all HTA interactions.
  • To manage the in house pricing system and work with the regional and global pricing teams to make price submissions and re-evaluations of the impact of other EU country price movements.
  • Update brand teams so they understand the HEOR / market information available and develop tools establishing the value for money our client’s medicines provide payers / stakeholders.
  • Provide support to Medical to ensure appropriate HE outcomes are included in clinical plans to support pricing, access and reimbursement goals
  • Analyse potential impact of new HTA Policy developments or decisions and generate reports to share information
  • Work closely with Regional and Global Health and Value teams on relevant regional initiatives and where possible represent Irish market

 

THE INDIVIDUAL

Experience & Background

  • University Degree Level with extensive experience in the healthcare / pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with health economic tools development, in pricing / reimbursement and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written including excellent Presentation Skills.
  • Strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in identifying and managing major strategic challenges
  • Track record of successfully operating and achieving results in a matrix environment, influencing stakeholders and leading change.
  • A commitment to excellence – both in the results achieved and in how they are achieved.Ideally with an understanding of Irish business and healthcare landscape & a firm grasp of customer needs for both Pharmacoeconomic Assessment and Outcomes Research data.
  • Expertise in Health Economics/ Outcomes Research with recent therapeutic and / or methodological peer reviewed publications.
