Head of Corporate Compliance and Risk Ireland – Pharmaceuticals – Dublin based – February 2018 – Immediate Vacancy

Our client, a major global US based pharmaceutical company wish to appoint a Head of Corporate Compliance and Risk Ireland to join their commercial operation based at their offices in Dublin.

Experience and working knowledge of Compliance in business operations in the broad ambit of My Anti-Corruption Policy and Procedure (MAPP), MOH regulations in Ireland, local pharma association rules, USA Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries (EFPIA), local laws and applicable Corporate Policies & Procedures would be a distinct advantage.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

To implement and manage our clients Compliance Program in Ireland, by providing proactive insight and support to the business within the local legal framework and the global/regional compliance strategy. While scoped to cooperate on regional Compliance projects, this role is dedicated to the Ireland market compliance program implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and drives the local Compliance program and strategy and overall culture of compliance, in consultation with the local Country Manager and Regional Compliance
  • Ensure effective oversight of Compliance in business operations in the broad ambit of My Anti-Corruption Policy and Procedure (MAPP), MOH regulations in Ireland, local pharma association rules, USA Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries (EFPIA), local laws and applicable Corporate Policies & Procedures.
  • Collaborates with Legal, Global Risk, Controls and Compliance (GRCC), Medical and other relevant stakeholders to advise local management and drive the implementation of applicable internal policies, procedures, programs and practices related to compliance.
  • Understands risk profile of market using available metrics and resources including through support of risk assessments and diagnostics
  • Coordinates market-level implementation of global and regional compliance initiatives
  • Drives the development and implementation of applicable internal policies, procedures; programs and practices related to Compliance;
  • Ensures relevant processes and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated and that Country has an effective training & communication program.  Establishes strong culture of Compliance in the Country in line with Integrity is, OWN IT! and based on local needs and priorities.
  • Develops local talent of compliance professionals and Compliance Champions for an effective local Compliance program.
  • Provides reactive and proactive constructive and solution-oriented support to the business on compliance matters
  • Execute escalation protocol for critical issues and matters within compliance function.
  • Support global and regional compliance projects implementation in Ireland
  • Aligns with other Compliance-related functions (e.g. Legal, GRCC) to identify emerging risks, develop appropriate action plans and ensure consistency in approach across market;
  • Establishes a local quality & compliance management system built along the principles of continuous improvement (e.g. process & system driven, based on data, root cause analyses and risks).
  • Provides input/insight into the global/regional compliance strategy as needed and participates in exchange of best practices to facilitate strengthening of local and global/regional compliance culture.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Excellent academic qualifications;
  • Legal education is a plus but demonstrated Compliance experience shall prevail (especially with a global US based company)
  • Proven capabilities including 4+ years of experience in some or all of the following areas:
  • Healthcare or regulatory compliance, FCPA/ABAC, ethics and compliance, operations, project management
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated strength in leadership, judgment and initiative
  • Proven capabilities to set priorities, drive results, and act efficiently and effectively within a complex business and organizational environment
  • Analytical and creative thinking ability
